Its hard to describe Saturday, October 25. Our Fall Ontario Grandmothers Regional Meeting was such a wonderful, informative day.
It was co-sponsored by ORRG and Grandmothers of Steel and held at a great venue, Hamilton District Christian High School. The group from the school supplied us with tea, coffee, juice, cookies and delicious goodies. After registration we wandered about the Marketplace to see all the very interesting goods for sale. There were great bargains with all the proceeds going to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
After being welcomed and new groups introduced we separated into our choice of workshop: Sustain the Campaign; 10 Tough Questions; Good Fundraising Ideas; Communications and Media Relations. So very very interesting.
Then came a delicious lunch prepared for us by HDCHS. This was followed by updates of The Stephen Lewis Foundation, National Advocacy Steering Committee and ORRG.
We were very honoured to have such special guests from the Stephen Lewis Foundation: Aissatou Diajhate and Michelle Landsberg-Lewis, who along with her great sense of humour, deeply inspired us to follow our hearts helping our African Grandmothers.
More to follow............
