Lauren Classen is a Lupina/OGS Doctoral Fellow and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology at University of Toronto. She studies the field of Medical Anthropology, which emphasizes the value of a multidisciplinary approach to examining global health issues. Lauren works at the interface of natural resource management, agriculture and health. She has worked as an impact assessment consultant in Honduras for the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture and is currently involved with a participatory agricultural project in north-central Honduras. In collaborating with farmers in Honduras, Lauren is writing a book chapter on their experiences and perceptions of 'participatory development', due for publication in fall 2007.
