Over 5,000 grandmothers and grandothers from the Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign will be walking in support of African Grandmothers caring for children orphaned by AIDS. Cumulatively, their strides will span the 8,000 kilometres acrosss Canada from coast to coast.

LISBIE'S TRIP TO AFRICA!!
Our dear friend, and member of Grandmothers of Steel, Lisbie Rae, leaves for Africa Wednesday, April 28th. She will be travelling with other Grandmother delegates and members of the Stephen Lewis Foundation to the 2010 Grandmothers' Gathering in Swaziland. This promises to be an exciting and inspiring journey for them all.

GIGGLES and GRINS
This event was a great success, with the warmest thanks to Adrienne Sloan and Sharron Orovan-Johnston, without whom none of this would have been possible. With special thanks to all our performers, who were terrific.
The following photos are a small sample of what a great time everyone had. Our Mayor, Fred Eisenberger. also joined us, and we are proud to show a photo of the beautfiul quilt that was raffled, with all proceeds going to Grandmothers of Steel and then on to The Stephen Lewis Foundation. This was made by Adrienne Sloan and Eileen Suffoletta
A special Thank You to the First Unitarian Church for providing such a perfect venue and their assistance.

Adrienne Sloan and Sharron Orovan Johnston’s interest in humour and its benefits has been cemented through organizing the First Canadian Humour Conference in Hamilton for 15 successful years.
Now we have organized a humour event with the Grandmothers of Steel to support the grandmothers of Africa who are raising their grandchildren affected by the AIDS epidemic.
Funds are directed to the Stephen Lewis Foundation which sponsors projects for these women.
